What a killer production Spin! The instrument choices are perfect. The pads and lead guitar breathe nicely along with that popcorn effect. That snare drum ties everything together. My favorite version of this. Thank you so much for this brilliant effort and execution and the time you put in.

Thanks for your kind words, CH! It was amazing and also somewhat intimidating to go through your uploads. You’re one of the most talented and productive people here! As I was going through your catalog, I tried at first to eliminate contributing parts that you do really well. So at first that eliminated playing the guitar, next it eliminated keyboard parts, then drum tracks and bass lines. But submitting a totally silent remix wasn’t going to be very good. :-) So I tossed all of those initial thoughts and just started jamming - all the while imagining that it would be a lot of fun to be in a real jam session with you, also since there’s a ton of common musical influences we seem to share.

Great guitar bits… How did you get that tone? (/guitar nerd)

.
thank you AB - that truly means a lot from you (as one my ccM guitar heroes)! The sounds are a customized combination of virtual stomp boxes and amplifiers from NI Guitar Rig 5. I also use a coil splitting capable guitar, where I can dial up different single coil or humbucking modes depending on the sound I’m after. On this mix I used some of each. Feel free to send me a private note, if you ever want to talk more about guitar tone. One of my favorite topics! :-)

oh yea baby! this is fantastic. a perfected arrangement with many nuisances that deserve several listens. the vocal ties it all together, there is much going on here, yet nothing that is out of place or too overpowering. those electric guitar phrases are so delicious! balanced, sexy, and sonorous.

I already heard this song a few days ago without looking whos the remixer. But I thought by myself, this sounds like Spinmeister. Why did I think so?
You can_t deny your DNA: the popcorn melody sounds like middle european barock composers stuff for my ears, your guitar playing has this charming western influence (not the wild wild west one). You are a master to apply details like these…. |
.
Thank you TJ! - lol - yes, my guitar sound is very influenced by waves thundering over western beaches! :-)
