i’m moved to say that this day-in-the-life pella by C.B. creates a picture more complete than anything i’ve heard recently. (and i’m NOT gonna use the words ‘cinematic’, ‘evocative’, or ‘poignant’. nope, you can’t make me.) but it is just a beautiful piece of writng & singing. you brought just the right touches in the mix. great piece.

You’re turning me into a conceited little madam. I love it. xxx

thanks PM! Yeah that CB sure knows how to craft words, doesn’t she? The lyrical content of this one struck home with me. Commuting on the bus has always given me that “rat race” feeling from childhood on. It may make sense for the environment, but it takes it’s toll on the spirit.

Love this mix Mr Spin. When the piano came in (2.09) it made me smile even more. A little bit of cabaret never did anyone any harm.
Panu’s right, your deft use of environment fx put me right on the bus sitting next to Ciggi! |

Don’t tell anyone else it’s me who smells. xxx

thanks, master of the waves! Hehe, yeah I was imagining pounding on an old upright while the lovely and talented Ms. CB was strutting her stuff to an admiring audience!

This is stunning, spinmeister! I can’t tell you how thrilled I am with this version - well, I can in fact, because I’m doing it now. I am thrilled. xxx

blush! Thanks so much for your kind words Ms. CB! As a long time admirer of your work, it was both intimidating and thrilling to work with your track. I hope you’ve forgiven my reckless use of virtual scissors and scotch tape.

Wow Spin - sounds Great! love the placement and phrasing of vocals in your musical framework. Great balance ‘twixt vox and music…all hearable and clear.
Loved it. |

This has a sparse feel to it yet there is lots of nice stuff going on.
The edgy rhythm feeling that comes across is great and gives the mix that extra something. You are right about buses. Sod the future lets burn gas now and live happily!! |

thanks for your kind words, RT! The bus vs. happiness question is a complicated one indeed - I’m not anti-bus by any means. And a school bus can be loads of fun as well as a bus going to a ski hill!

So glad I finally caught the bus (I obviously missed it first time around)! Marvelous arrangement with terrific sounds and super sensitivity to the literal and figurative tone of Ciggi’s song. Bravo!

Thanks so kindly SJ! Just when I thought this remix had faded into the safety of obscurity, your comment breathed some new life into it!

There are so many great tracks here at ccM and everything tends to move so quickly, it is easy for gems like this to get left behind — gotta stay on top of it! (Not that it was left behind — obviously this was a full ride!) Today, I’m spending some time trying to catch up.
