I don’t know much about electribes. But the mix sounds fascinating. Before the drums kick in, I hear what sounds like vintage sci-fi effects (from the days of Starlost, Dr. Who, etc.)
Which sounds in this come from it? |
.
Everything but the vocals, the trumpet and those drums in the second half comes from the electribe. It’s basically a drum sequencer but there are oscillator, amp and delay knobs you can play with (ten in all) in real time and in combination (more than one at a time) to tweak the sound. It’s a lot of fun.
Now I have to google Starlost. I thought I knew all the old sci-fi shows. |

Ahh now. This … well, this is just what I needed to hear. Something familiar, something new; and as result a flame of sorts was kindled.
Thanks for sharing. |

I had a roommate once that had a bunch of electribes. Pretty cool stuff. Listening to this one put me in a trance.

I can’t stop listening but I’m not sure why! Your track has the effect on me of stopping the need for thought - as if it’s filling my brain and carrying out some new process. It’s about time something new happened there. ejc’s writing is excellent, as usual.

Hypnotized me. Noir and avant-garde electronic music. Interesting.
