Sweet remix, I love how you’ve transformed jaspertine’s track, it sounds amazing :)

Rewob,
I have added one of your NC-BY sample sources to force the NC-BY license in order to honor the license terms of Junior Baes (djoctx). If anyone questions if this makes it a self-remix (which it’s not), the reason is to honor the license terms of an artist that is not part of ccMixter and it does not affect anyone else here. Curiously, I do not see anywhere that the acappella by Junior Baes (djoctx) is Creative Commons so it would help if you can give me a link that shows that. —I’m going to assume for the moment that is a conventional royalty-free license for non-commercial use with the option to purchase a license from the artist for commercial use. It seems that all of her acappella descriptions on looperman are uniform, and that the way she wants credit is something like “your name feat. Junior Baes”. —Because you cannot add a comment to her upload (it is not visible or has been deleted), and because our naming system separates your name from the title, I recommend renaming your remix like this: “I Need to Calm Down (feat. Junior Baes)” This is entirely up to you, as we’re not requiring you to do so. I hope this resolves the issue, but I am open to any suggestions. Let me know if you have any questions. Kind regards, Apoxode |

Rewob,
Thanks for identifying the a cappella author. More questions and comments. (1) Did not find an a cappella on Looperman by Junior Paes (djoctx) entitled “Calm Down.” Found a Looperman track (remix) of Junior Paes’ a cappella “Calm Down” by Plague760 at https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/228319 Please provide a Looperman link to Junior Paes a cappella and license text. Is the a cappella no longer uploaded to Looperman.com? That is okay, if you are adhering to djoctx’s then current “Calm Down” license (permission) when you downloaded it. (2) djoctx provides the following (meager) licensing text with all current and visible Looperman a cappellas: Free NON-COMMERCIAL ONLY / COMMERCIAL LICENSE REQUIRED Contact me to purchase the commercial license (email on my profile) For commercial use license details or custom works, send me an email ;) If you do a non-commercial song with my vocal, don’t forget to share it below in the comments. ;) Feat me like (You feat Junior Paes) (3) License CC BY would not be an appropriate license given djoctx’s noncommercial only license unless you have acquired the right to use CC BY from djoctx. Use CC BY NC. (4) When you added Junior Paes to your featured artists list you dropped jaspertine “:0) Best regards, TRF |

texasradiofish,
This is the acapella file I downloaded from Looperman as it appeared in my download folder. looperman-a-066975-0017609-calm-down.mp3 which I understand was free for non commercial use, as is a lot of looperman material. Maybe by now its been removed from looperman. I didn’t drop jaspertine, I filled in the “used samples from” box. I can edit to feature jaspertine if required. Kind regards. Rewob. |

Yes, 442 songs in this group. Did not find “Calm Down” Maybe by now its been removed from looperman. Yes, seems the audio is no longer on Looperman as an a cappella. You noted above that the audio file was provided for non commercial use. The Creative Commons License CC BY allows both commercial and noncommercial use. You must change your remix license to noncommercial only CC BY NC to comply with the author’s permission for the work. I didn’t drop jaspertine, I filled in the “used samples from” box. I can edit to feature jaspertine if required. Agree, you did not change jaspertine as a source. Add jaspertine to the featured artist line. Also, “from Looperman” is not necessary within the featured artists line/box. Kind regards. Rewob. Best regards, TRF |

Thanks texasradiofish for your guidance.
I’ve edited the feature tab to include jaspertine as requested. How and where do I change the remix licence to noncommertial only CC BY NC? as I’ve never had to do this before. I just love producing music Best regards, Rewob |

Rewob,
We love that you produce music to be uploaded to ccmixter. Intellectual property management minutia can be a tedious distraction. To change CC license (1) Click on Properties (2) Click on Edit Remix Sources (3) Use the drop down menu under “Your remix will be licensed as:” to change the license. Best regards, TRF |
|
.
Thanks texasradiofish for the above but I need some additional help please.
I’ve got to “this remix will be licensed under page” which showed Attribution (4.0) license clicked on the attribution tag to change it which took me to the creative commons page. (I couldnt see a drop down menu) I clicked on licenses and tools tab and scrolled down and found CC BY-NC clicked on that that which took me to the CC BY-NC 4.0 DEED page which explained everything but I couldn’t find where I could select the new license. Obviously I’m doing something wrong. I’m not to bad doing music but not so good with computers. Best regards, Rewob |

I tried this change license process on a TRF CC BY 3.0 remix and the process worked.
Attribution (3.0) allows me to change the license. Maybe updates for Attribution (4.0) changed the process. We have exhausted my knowledge of the change remix license topic. Suggest you contact Apoxode (ADMIN) for assistance. Point Apoxode to this thread. Maybe Apoxode can change the license for you. I don’t have ADMIN access privileges. To by compliant with the authors permission, you must change the license to CC BY NC or delete or unpublish the remix. If you delete the remix, resubmit the remix using CC BY NC license this time :0) Best regards, TRF |

texasradiofish,
Thank you so much for your assistance in this matter. You went above and beyond to help out another user and I want to commend you for that. I believe I have resolved the issue, but I am open to your insight and suggestions. On behalf of ccMixter, thank you :) Kind regards, Apoxode |

.
I thought of forcing the license to CC BY NC by adding another source but declined to mention it to Rewob in favor of first asking you to look into whether the “change remix license” function for Attribution 4.0 works.
Wrt helping folks when we can, no worries. We are all encouraged by the ccMixter cognoscenti to be proactive resolving or reporting intellectual property issues. |

Okay, Rewob. After your calm perseverance to resolve an open and somewhat stubborn intellectual property issue, here’s a well deserved Ed Pick! |
