Really enjoyed listening to this, when you come in singing, for some reason I sense the Beatles around somewhere, not exactly Chicken Shack, however I think Jimmy Smith when someone says Chicken Shack.

I was thinking more of the Stan Webb sound than the style but maybe you’re right maybe its nothing like him at all!!.

I hope you were thinking John or Paul when you mentioned my vocals and the Beatles and not Ringo!!:)

hmm… Ringo eh? No actually, we just finished watching Across the Universe a week or so ago and so the Beatles have been flowing through my head. Definitely John or Paul. Probably a strange hybrid, Laul McLennon maybe?

You know I’m liking this a whole bunch. Your vocals strike me as a cross between Lennon and Bowie stylistically. I love the blend of depth/space vs. immediacy/clarity in this mix, a nice balancing act indeed!

Well thank you for the kind words and glad you like it.

I’m getting a bit of a feel for this vocal thing again so I might do some more now you’ve encouraged me!!

This i like. Its mellow - kind of what i’d have on whilst enjoying a merlot. Being a bowie fan, the chorus is a favourite part for me. The drums i think add to its meloness (a real word?) - it makes the tracks ambience seem soothing.

Nice job.

Thanks very much and glad you enjoyed my vox parts. I think the real word you mean is mellowness!! But hey I can feel meloness as well. No problem as long as you take all the seeds out!!:)

David Bowie is a good comparison i think …

I am always amazed of the ideas people here have, and what is possible when mixing a sample - like giving it a new live
