What do you mean a teensy bit skinny EQ-wise? I tried to make it sound like I’d sampled some old record but the music was all created in Reason and then imported to Live 6 and cut up and mashed up. all samples all safe!

The vinyl sim is missing any burp or crackle, hi-pass? Anyway, this, plus the relative front/center stereo mix overall, has the effect (to my muddy ears) of obscuring some upper mids on the other tracks, creating a “scooped” effect. …or I’m just having delusions of sanity again ;)

That “fresh” has been around for a long, long time, but- its particular copyright status is unknown to me, and though not really hard to recreate, I’ve seen incidences where mix-ups around sample origins have caused unnecessary tension. I’d rather err on the side of paranoia; when I mention it in a review, it means “Just tell me you did this yourself, and I’ll shut up.” It’s happened before, groundless fears are the best kind!

If I really thought I was hearing blatant use of copyrighted material, I’d just email whoever and ask them to pull it before an admin who has had far too many previous headaches about this gets wind of it…
