Well musikpirat we meet again. Nice remix. The brass adds a nice dimension and pulse to the track. Good work.

For sure you do! If I wanted to have created a remix like this I would have never been able to. That’s why I love secret mixter’s. They force you to think and move out of the box you are usually burried in. Even if I consider my box to be quite spacious, it is indeed focus on electronic stuff. :)

Made me smile. Got a tad memory of Lene Lovitch - but much more optimistic. Very cool use of talents and remixing offerings! Cheers!

Had to look up that name… Interestingly her first hit made it the year I was born. That kind of music is to much better than (most of) what is aired today. So much more soul and less focus on being hot-rotationable.

Sadly (at leas for me) most of your praise I most forward to Rewob and Kara Square. I just spiced up everything a little bit.

I had to go back and listen to Rewob’s stellar mix and I love the direction you took it. Very cool electro-folk. Upbeat and exciting. Thanks so much for the include.

Thanks Kara, glad that you like it. (Btw, the link at your original upload to thinkrootrecords is broken…) The lyrics are great and I can’t get them out of my head. :) Maybe they are my shadows now? But I do not want to destroy them…

Haha… yeah, it’s a bit of an earworm. :) Thanks for letting me know about the link. It’s fixed now.

No way - this was intended to sound westernish from the very beginning?!?

Yeah! That’s how I still hear it in my head, but man, I sure love hearing it in all of the different genres it has become.

I am not sure why I associate Brass and Tuba often with Bavaria - and it doesn’t really matter.
What astounded me must: I have not expected anything like this from your hands. (positively meant).
Funny and entertaining.

Hehe, that’s what secrets mixter’s are for: Surprise yourself and others. Most of what sound like “not me” is indeed not me. Rewob and Kara laid a very solid foundation and I did just add a couple thinks I felt that were missing. It was really fun to let myself being driven into this direction.

Very danceable and sing alongable.

For sure. Rewob and Kara did a great job here - most of the sing alongableness was already there and I did enhance it just a little bit.

love how the acoustic is panned left. i dig your melodic bass line — gives a bit of reggae flair with the captivating rhythm. you’ve destroyed the shadows with this mix full of energy and light!

Reggae? Interesting, never thaught of it. To be honest I wanted to amplify the original bass without - well - amplifying it. So I tried to replay it. Lost a lot of notes on the way there…

And I am totally flashed that you are mentioning the panning. Usually I love to have some percussions floating around, this time I decided to use specific panning to make this sound more as being played by a band live.

Thanks! I did have a great time listening to your conversation being on the road. Really hope that one day I’ll be able to meet you and some other guys and gals from ccmixter. Right now I am seriously afraid that I’d have trouble entering the US. I am not a huge fan of the actual President and do express this quite open. :)
