great lyrics, rhythm and backing MMT! sure to see some remixing even though I enjoyed just listening to the a capella.

Hey Septahelix- thank you! I do hope you’re right and it’s appealing to the remixers… I’m glad you dig.

Thank you for all of your kind, kind words, Snowflake. Now, I must reveal that we did a LOT of tinkering with these vocals… Rich had them in Melodyne and pitch shifted quite a bit of them… Plus, we went in and reduced the gain on some of the breaths (or outright deleted them). I feel more at liberty to do this sort of thing when working with electronic music… But thank you! I just can’t take all the credit. :)

well, you wisely used the tools in your arsenal because it sounds terrific. and the pitch shifting must have been fairly minor because you dont sound like Cher :)

For a pella this is really well mixed, with a great use of the stereo field and reverb. Great stuff for someone who might not be expert at fitting vocals into an instrumental!

Thank you, Admiral. Right on- I hope it’s helpful to someone out there…

a wonderful blend of Inteligenz and heart. Concise as good poetry and then another message. In order to combine in one text, one must be very good. Respect - respect again.

You’re so kind, Jurgen. Thank you. I’ve been purposely trying to scale back on amount of words lately- to simplify and focus the songs… Thanks for noticing.

Gorgeous! I just found this site recently, and this epitomizes the mind-blowing excellence of many of the a capella posts. I’ll take a stab before listening to your version.

Hmm. I’m stumped for words. I am so impressed by this - the lyrics, your voice and your innovative interpretation - that all I can say is that I absolutely love it. I hope you realise how talented you are. I wish that somebody with a lot of money and influence would realise it too. xxxx

Well, your review made me teary-eyed. I even showed it to my partner. Speaking of, this song was really because of her… I call her a verbal poet… In conversation, she said these lines “With our salty sea of sad, And our raw bloody hearts,” so I asked her if I could write it down and use it (as I usually do when she says such poetic things). Of course, she didn’t mind. Anyway, your words mean so much to me. I hold you in the utmost respect as a creative lyricist and vocalist… and I hope and wish the same for you. Thank you, Ciggi.

Wow, congrats Mind Map That! Was a wonderful listening the pella, what a nice song! Clever lyrics, as usual (thats a good thing eh). I love the way you say “reconstruct” amazing!, and the harmonies too. Impressive recording

Thank you kindly, DICE! We did quite a bit of manipulation to the vocals, but I figured it was cool since it’s such an electro-type song. I’m so glad you dig!

I listened your original Build song in your site, it’s great! The synth 8bit-style you used are really wonderful, sounds like commodore 64 in some sections. And i love those sounds.

I liked it a lot, it’s very nerdy
