Lively and engaging. Like the b-52s doing Rocky Horror. In a higher register. Cool.

Awesome! I’m so glad you said it’s like the B-52’s… that’s what I was going for but I couldn’t think of the band! Thanks! (And glad you dig!)

This is totally awesome and very original. I like how you’re matching the intensity of the beat with an upbeat New-wavish vocal. You’ve turned in a brilliant piece, very reminiscent of the cleverness and off-beatishness of early Roxy Music!
|
.
*blush* Thank you, Admiral! Funny thing is that I was just having a silly bit of fun after an intense, boring day of work. Your Roxy Music comparison is very interesting… one I’ve gotten a few times before w/ my band… But really, unreal brought that out of me…

I’ve with the Admiral…. I hear a bit of Roxy Music in the vox, albeit at a higher register than Bryan Ferry. Neat stuff :)

Thank you, Fireproof! Muchly…!

To me, if you bring in some more instrumens, breaks and noises, it sounds like Talking Heads with… a…female singer :) Great song MMT

.
…hmmm… I know someone who knows a awesome Talking Heads recipe… ;) ((you))… Thanks, Alex!

That was really quick and you’ve created an excellent piece, it has some of the elements of the late 70’s/ early 80’s yet is very original and vibrant with a quirky humour. Thanks for finding a use for the samples.

Man, I’m glad you dig it! I was actually a bit nervous about posting this one… it was just some quick, silly fun. Your samples really outlined what I did… I just sang along. :D

Agree with the praises above. This is freakin awesome. There’s indeed a substantial dose of Roxy Music’s first album in here and that’s a huge compliment. Must listen again….

Thanks so much, St. Paul! I must make a confession, I’ve heard pieces of Roxy Music here and there, but I really don’t know it very well. ((It was a bit before my time- and my folks were into the folky side of music. Grew up spinning their records- Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, Peter, Paul, & Mary.)) My bandmate first exposed me to electronic styles… And really, unreal brought this all out. You know what this piece could really use? dum, dum, dum… Your voice! ;)

Man, I’m 100% serious! I love your voice. Your “drunken sailor” song was just amazing… yeah, I’m serious. (No pressure though, seriously). :)

Everyone already said it… but this is one heck of a fun track! Your charm, your humor, the warmth and good cheer of your voice — love it!!!! What a fab contribution to the Emergence event!
|
.
Thanks a bunch, SackJo! It was a fun release of energy! (I probably should have recorded the sweet dance moves it invoked.) Honestly, I didn’t know how to contribute to the event until I heard unreal’s samples. You, snowflake, Admiral, Anchor and others already had the intellectual, spiritual, sentimental sides beautifully covered. Thanks again for your kind words!

Oh man, this is a lot of fun. Makes me think of B-52s. I was smiling the whole time…. :)

.
Thanks, Ben! So kind! Yeah, I was totally thinking the B-52s when I did it.

Thanks for your kind words, Vidian… ! It was quite fun to do. If you had seen my sweet dance moves while I recorded the vox, cool would not be what you think. ;D

This rocks!!! …and far beyond comedy!
Yet… and entirely on the other hand… I haven’t seen your sweet dance moves though. Got a video? ;) |
.
Thank you for listening, AIR! I’m glad you found it rocking. :D Ahhhh… dance moves. I didn’t record them to save myself the embarrassment. But… here’s a different song where the dancing embarrassment shines! (Minus the make-up and outfit, that’s pretty much how I dance.)
