I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess there’s a Joni Mitchell album or two in your collection ;-)
Good stuff. |

You know, I think you embarrass the rest of us with your creativity. ;-)
Your ability to see a song in the rock, Michaelangelo style, is pretty amazing. And so is the wall of vocals. |

Wow!! I Love this groove, nice warm sound, and your vocals make it even better, they sound really natural and at home.
You need to do a whole album like this, Fabtastic work!! |

Lovely warm sound and that typical SackJo vocal arrangement that takes me back to SFO circa 69-70. A marriage between a Jefferson Aeroplane ballad and something from Joni Mitchell’s “Blue”. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

Okay, first, this is a lovely song. Your vocal range mystifies me with every listen. The vocal layers you create are mind-blowing. Seriously, how do you hear so many parts? The end is a remarkable example of this.
duckett and timberman beat me to the Joni comparison (though, just yesterday texasradiofish’s remix of your “Slippin’ and Slidin’” made me think of her… (BTW, Joni Mitchell is one of my all-time favorite musicians/ vocalists.) Wonderful. |

Thank YOU Kara for such kind and thoughtful words. Joni Mitchell is (too obviously perhaps) a huge influence — especially her Hejira/Mingus period.
As for harmonies, I spent a lot of time listening to, and singing along with, The Roches. Another HUGE influence. They don’t just do harmonies — they do interlocking melodies or something… I don’t know what exactly, but they are awesome! |

Ahhh… The Roches, interesting… I saw Lucy Wainwright Roche open for Loudon Wainwright III (another of my favs)… and I love Martha and Rufus… Why haven’t I explored The Roches?? On to Grooveshark! (Are you a fan of any of the Wainwrights?)

Indeed, I’m glad to hear your voice again.
And it makes me happy to hear this incomparable Susan style - great music, flavored with lightness, sense and a touch of melancholy… |

You were actually going to do just one vocal and one harmony lol? That’s like trying to eat one M&M for sure. I have grown quite fond of your awe-inspiring tonal patterns and this is no exception. This is my fifth listen and I am trying to put to words what I am hearing. It’s just stunning!! You also complimented the entire track with that wonderful bass line.

Very relaxing. I like the end especially when all the vocals come together. I’m not sure why but reminds of the slow Prince stuff. From the other posts it’s clearly got a Joni Mitchell vibe but I’m embarrassed to admit I’m not very familiar with Joni Mitchell. *Ducks from the ensuing backlash*

To be honest, It took me to approaches to recognize the beauty of the song. Well, now it’s the catch of the day. :)
http://musik.klarmachen-zum... It reminds me of Portishead - and I like Portishead. :) |
