is the term “right in your wheel-house” familiar in the UK? Because that was my first thought!

Wow!I see what you were getting at!This is excellent! Its also gonna be played alot on my MP3 etc… I always love your RMXs and this tops an already great list. From now on I will single line the vocals.
I love the guitar, kinda sitar sound and oldskool feel that you gave it. Your harmonies and arrangment are tops. Wish you lived in Brighton.Im mabe moving to Colombia end next year? Nice one LS! Spot On! Wheres the editors pick sign?

Guitar in The Stylistics / Chi Lites mode. Been looking to use that for time now in a tune.

I am grateful for these vocal melodies as the challenge i set myself is more about writing a song than a remix. Vocal harmony is my last musical exploration as i cant always achieve what i can hear. But when i comes off it can make the most simple of chord sequences fly as it is often tied to the lyric.

Brighton to Columbia is that meant to better ? :-) I am in the Midlands in the UK. I could come for a holiday :-)!

And sorry i cant pick my own mixes even though the button is there. :-)

I agree its more than a remix. Your harmonies make it your own. Been playing it all day, even brought a tear to my eye, (that never happens..)well not for a few years anyway.. end up thinking about my old man who passed in 06.. It wasnt even about him…am I going on here? Of course your welcome to visit anytime LS.

GON, I like this song soooo much that I was thinking I might like to do a cover. Is that OK?? I mean, I don’t have a deal or nuthin’ but I’m really connecting with it & I noticed my daughter walking thru the house singin’ ‘…all we got is this family..’ so I know it ain’t just me! Powerful stuff.

Creative Commons bro, Add value !

I am sure GON would love to hear you do a version. I cant wait to see you work the harmonies out he he.

One of my visions for this type of `remix ’ is to craft publishable songs. We all need a break and thats out of as many accpellas an ideas that arrive. Its one more option for the community and the future thoughts of Artistech.

Good vision, LS!
Even if GON is GONE away from these replies it seems, I also believe he would love Songboy3 (and his family, why not?) do something on this.

GON: Do you think you could get the lyrics to me for this? I’d really like to take a crack at this song if it’s cool with you. Great song, by the way…

Never mind. I played it so many times here at my desk that I ended up figuring out the lyrics. At least, this is what i got:

Sepia AKA This Family
By Guests Of Nature
Arranged by Jeff ‘Loveshadow’ Grant

You see in black & white
No sepia tones breaking down the light
Easin’ your mind
You find you know the things that limit you
There’s only so much time
I’ve got to find my way in this crazy world
You know we’re losing in the meantime
Don’t you think this world can be hard enough
You know that there’s only so much time
I’ve got to find my way in this crazy world

CHORUS:
You know that all we got is this family
Broken by the pieces of your gravity
You see, this ain’t right
You’ll never find the way if you smash the light…(2x)…

You see in black & white
No sepia tones breaking down the light
Easin’ your mind
Don’t you think this world can be hard enough
Ease up on the pressure and we’ll be fine
Can’t you see we’re rippin’ & we’re pullin’ on the same line
There’s only so much time
I’ve got to find my way in this crazy world

…CHORUS to fade…

Sweet.

Whoa.

The refrain you created with the added vocals is really good. The harmonies are, well, quite lovely.

“Wistful”? Back in the old country we just called it “gas”.

Love this Shadow! Just great!!! I think of The Spinners (at least as far as your music goes). It’s truly enjoyable to listen to. You’re amazing! :)

Wonderful pop treatment, and a very nice way to pass along an important message. Just the thing I needed to come home to after a week at sea with my extended family. Though we all have our mishegas (Yiddish word for craziness) none of us would be who we are were it not for our relationship to one another. Top marks Sir.

the things I hate most about the internet is the time i spend searching for things when the best one are right in front of me…so glad I wrote of this morning and decided to click on your page and enjoy you work. I think it is truly a talent to be about create music around a pella that fits so naturally and compliments, ones that fit so seemlessly…truly an artist, so glad to be enjoying your talent and work. Love it.
