The bass and light percussion gives me the feeling that I am in acoustic space—a yoga studio in which the audience has removed sandals and shoes, so as not to ruin the floor or the mood. This is listening space, a place where the chat dies and no glasses clink and nothing burns except the simmer of the band.

She’s in a gown—a vintage gown in an unbelievably stark blue. She’s standing at an upright microphone,
holding on to it as if otherwise she’ll waft away in the melody, lost in the gentle groove. So many times the warmest emotions spring from what might be mistaken for the most sedate chill.

The bassist plays quietly in a corner, because he can never tell her how he feels. Her fiance’ is in the front row—she wears his ring, but even he cannot tell her how he feels. Everyone feels something is happening—something complex and searching and effortless and impossible. What is possible in a space in which these moments only occur a few times in a lifetime, in quiet musical space, which vanishes the moment the lights turn up?

The guitarist smiles as she puts a gentle touch on the melody—there are no answers in guitar, but the questions sound so delicious.

A smooth, delightful mix.

Ah yes……A sweet and subtle treatment of this. Reminds me a lot of the cardigans; and if memory serves (and it often doesn’t) I made a similar remark regarding one of your other remixes of shannonsongs. This is a good thing. Your acoustic gtr work is excellent. Love that sliding, and string noise; it fits the piece perfectly.

Thanks Joe!
That accoustic guitar( and all the rest) is,actually played on a keyboard using NI Kore Player vst. Sounds cool, isn’t it?
I think I have to get the complete Kore package…
