Process

For the beats on this track, I combined pairing and home-key training (no pitch/rate change, just nudging). Some hits pan more to the left or right depending on the original beat used -- this works great for spacing. The trick is to find beats that don't have eighth-note hats which sour the reverb from kicks and snares. Note: this technique doesn't retain grace work, so you have to replicate it as 16ths -- this works best with overlap, to give the illusion of snare rolling.
