Process
The foundation is a 4-bar loop from the "Torque" remix by Mana Junkie (2007). In Sonar I managed to play along the torque loop and have my synths replicate the original in 5 midi parts. Then applied midi to gamelan samples in Kontakt, and gave some transposition and harmonic variation. Every three 4/4 beats we have one 31/32 beat. The original loop is heard in the refrain (with bass from Kontakt, drums from Beatscape, and a couple of more synth parts). An original tecno synth plays alone a riff- provided in samples. Music was a little ripetitive, so I added sung vocals to distract the listener.
