How I Did It
Uses samples from:
Samples are used in:
Tools I Used
NanoKey2, Garageband, Reaper, Boss GT6, Les Paul
Samples I Used
Piano and vocals from snowflake
Original Samples
Drums, bass, and three guitar tracks.
Process
Laid down the drums a few pieces at a time, and added a conga layer at the end. Added a bass line after figuring out the structure of the song. (The drums and bass I did on the NanoKey.) Then I added a soft pad during the middle break. You can hardly hear it. I keep the NanoKey upstairs, so I was able to just noodle around with this without being anti-social. :)
Then I went downstairs to the studio, and added the three guitars using the GT-6. The two rhythm guitars are hard panned left and right, and are EQed with a Marshall Amp profile. These are dry, no reverb, as is the trend these days.
The lead guitar is played through a Twin with the GT-6, and just a hint of small room reverb.
Other Notes
A little rockier than I intended, but not too bad.
