I came up with the main chord progression first, walking up 4th street to downtown from the train one time. The piano melody came after that, and then I kinda put the song aside for a while. I wrote it in psy-trance style because that's what Xarah likes, and she was having a hard life when I was working on this. Then a couple months ago, I found this (ccmixter) great site ;) and started listening to (sampling?) all the great samples here. When I heard Girl and Supergirl for the first time, I knew it was a perfect fit with what I was writing.
