How I Did It

by Nickleus
Tools I Used
ubuntu linux 10.04 (rt [real time] kernel)
qjackctl (jack audio)
hydrogen
seq24
patchage
audacity
Samples I Used
the drumkit i used in the default drumkit in hydrogen: GMKit
Process
start qjackctl
start hydrogen
start seq24
start patchage
in patchage, connect "[1] seq24 1" to "Hydrogen Midi-In"
then you work solely in seq24, mapping out your beats using a midi editor window
when you want to record something, start audacity. go to Preferences, then set the following values:
Host: JACK Audio Connection Kit
Playback device: System
Recording device: Hydrogen
Then just press the record button =)
