Process
I didn't listen to the acapella in any other context so I wasn't influenced. I spent a while working out which chord and bass combinations worked well and practised playing the piano part a few times.
I recorded the stereo out from the piano and the MIDI triggered output from ZynSub which was doing a slow attack stringy choir thing into Ardour simultaneously then added the bass guitar after. Finally a bit of compression on the output.
