Process
I was shooting for a vintage sound so I left synth sounds out. I added a gospel choir very subtly in the background, a hammond organ, rhodes and vintage piano sound.
Other Notes
I really had fun with this. This to me is what soul music is supposed to be, not the image-driven crap that bombards the radio these days. Back when I was a kid there really wasn't a face or image behind the hit songs like now. It was all about the music. It's sad that is no longer the case. Byonce...are you listening???
