Tools I Used

Acid and Ableton Live, used basic built-in effects, mastered in Sound Forge (hear final mix at mikooshka.com)

Samples I Used

With the exception of a tambourine by the Soul_Searchers, the samples are original - trumpets created the pad sounds, and the beats were programmed.

Process

Arranged all the pieces in Acid (a process of microsampling and building things from programming or re-arranging those tiny samples). Put some effects on things in Live.

Other Notes

Was really happy with the overall smooth feel and ambience. Has a cinematic quality. I'd like to improve the bass or add some more melody.
