It seems rather weird to be writing a summer themed song in the depths of a Southern Hemisphere winter - my pool is a balmy 10 deg C and the shrinkage factor is definitely a big factor.
I was so glad when I got Joe for my secret mixter assignment.
I was already familiar with his extensive catalog of guitar and drum samples so the hard part was fitting it to an upbeat summer poolside theme.
I reconstructed the drums by sampling single shots from a couple of his great drum uploads and his rhythm guitar sample holds it all together.
I detuned a nylon acoustic guitar way down for the bass and plugged in the strat for the little lead cameo at the beginning.
Vocals recorded single take (if you don’t count the first time when I forgot to arm the track -sound familiar Joe?)
Anyway here it is.
Hope it carries forward the energy that jumps around in all of his uploads.
