I was so excited to get paired with That Crazy Little Asian SO SHA! I knew she had tons of samples and pellas. The main problem would be sticking with one idea and following it through.

Since I have a kinship with the idea of ghosts (long story) I chose her song “G H O S T S” to be my primary source. I picked Version 2 of the G_H_O_S_T_S track, and I also isolated a couple of odd sounds from her upload called Hold Me Back WIP. I call the loop “Yerdle” and have included it in the uploads.

The pella I built the remix around was labeled shureghosts, which I knew had to do with the microphone she recorded the vocals, but I decided to flip it to the title and acknowledge that “Sure, there will be ghosts,” when dealing with relationships, and especially when they are winding down.

This is a breakup song so I chose my loops and effects with that melancholy idea in mind. I wanted to keep the mix a little spooky without being too overt. It is, after all, near Halloween.

Another loop I used was one from a friend who is also a music producer. He makes music under the name Spiritual Garage Sale. The loop is called More Percussion, Sloppy Seconds. I’ve included it in the uploads.

I don’t know who makes the pairings for the Secret Mixters – whether random or thoughtful humans are responsible – but I want to thank whoever is responsible for pairing me with the talented So Sha. It was a gift.
