Fall 2011 Secret Mixter entry. Written, recorded, and video shot in 3 days. ( CHECK OUT THE 90’S STYLE VANITY VIDEO HERE !)

Wired_Ant provided the chord progression for verses with his “Hurdy Gurdy” organ sample, and the instrumental melody with a synth sample. Oh, also, his whispered “Don’t count the money in your purse”, I used that for the first line of the lyrics.

The vocals were recorded on an iPod Touch 4’s microphone while I was shooting the video.

The SFX at the top is “Belmontpark Giantdipper.wav” on Freesound, uploaded by Afterguard - my thanks to him as the attribution function can’t seem to find it with any search terms.

The key is C, the tempo is 60
11/22: Mix updated.
Lyrics:

Don’t count the money in your purse
The next in line don’t care if you were here first
Your shoe’s untied, crash and burn
Moving through the twists and turns
Souvenirs nailed to the wall

Climb into the Big Dipper, eyes open wide
That weightless feeling floor to ceiling I want to keep inside
strapped into the high chair, at the mercy of the machine
Flying without wings
Above the sprawl
Welcome the fall

Watch yourself, watch the skies
He who laughs too loud lives a lie
Closer to the sun, crash and burn
In the upper atmosphere
There’s really nothing left to fear

But no one dies today, lifetime guaranteed
A moment of stillness at the top, then rush of speed
Adrenaline endorphins and dopamine
Can barely stand it all
Slowing to a crawl
Welcome the fall
