I’ve been travelling from ocean to ocean wading through waters near distant lands
Bruised and confused tattered and restless covered in regrets and all lifes broken plans
Days of existing down in the margins ripped by the sharp stones still crushing my bones
And there in the future a fire is burning it’s leading me down to Lucifers home

I once had a dream the world was my great oyster it held the brightest pearl you would ever see
And the hands held out before me were trying to assure me but each one held a fist that would bring me to my knees
And despite my rare adventures to the houses of religion despite my prayers and offerings good thoughts amongst the stones
I’ll still keep walking down the highways of abstention that lead me back to darkness that is Lucifers home

There’s always gold in dirt for those who want to venture beyond the safety of the hearth and of the home
Nuggets of sweet temptation to get you to the firm ground but quicksand lies before you could sink amongst its moans
And all your crystal messages will shatter in the dark clouds that descend to freeze your spirits and make brittle all your bones
There’s only one man waiting as the corner you are taking and he’s opening up the door into Lucifers home.
