Just beyond the river,
and the trees,
the sun burns the sky,
and the veil of illusion falls.

The birds lead the way,
they’ve known since they were lizards.

The diamond prism of plasma,
the air too hot to remain air,
even the frozen seas have never seen lights such as these.

I know I am only dreaming,
but dreams are truer than lies,
even if they are phantoms of Morpheus.

The sun’s angry arms,
and even hungry maw,
devour the towers of glass and stone,
tearing down the sheets of paper and oil.

I know what it is telling me to do now.

I open my eyes.
