Okay, so time for me to talk about two of my most frequent paid mercenaries / collaborators from Fiverr. (And how this all flowed into this upload)

First I must thank DJ El Sobrino for allowing me to share his work for hire with all y’all under the Creative Commons By License. So, if you use the scratches, credit him. If you stream, try to properly “Feature” him so you both benefit from each other. DJ El Sobrino (not to be confused with DJ Sobrino) can be hired through Fiverr through here. He’s extremely quick, professional, and you are helping a working man in Latin America support his family. It’s a win-win.

I have hired Lone Wolf I want to say five times for a 16 bar verse and three times for a full song. I was on my third song subscription when I decided I wanted to do something special with whatever Apoxode had for “Attribution By” in his CCMixter catalogue… which there is stuff to work with for sure! He’s always providing people with feedback so I wanted to do come up with a hip hop mix for one of the mercs I hire to float on.

I came up with a funky Yuletide song and I invited Lone Wolf to rhyme on it, open verse. At the end of the verse, I hired DJ El Sobrino to fill up 8 bars with scratching he gave me 14 bars. I’ve hired him about as many times as Lone Wolf.

The fully mixed song is going on the album “October Surprise” hitting streaming services on the 29th of this month. As the album contains the Secret Mixter song, and the preview link previews all the tracks… I can’t share the link until the reveal day.

This is a good example of the use of the Izotope Vinyl VST. I took Apoxode’s “This Is Surgery” strings and made them super warbly!!
