So I’m about to release a megamix where I use the heck out of this thing. Vinyl recreates dust, vinly scratches (not DJ scratches, scratches on vinyl) warping, age, lo-fi, the era the record was made in. 78, 33, 45… and record slowdown. That one is FUN. Big fun. Anyway, I didn’t want to clog up the main window of an upload ranting about this VST when it makes more sense to make a forum post about it. But absolutely check this one out! I mean, it’s the right price. ZERO!

It even has a setting to recreate the electric hum of an ungrounded turntable!!!!!

Pro-Tip : Record slowdown is a toggle, not a slider like volume. So if you have a graph to control your setting like dots and a line… you can use those to aim the toggle at oddball parts of a song. When the toggle goes off, the sound plays exactly where it is in the DAW at full speed. Use this to your advantage. I’ll show you how with my Emerald event upload

Until I can get around to possibly doing that, this guide explains most of it’s functionality. Beyond “effects” it can also be used to quickly control vocals to quiet them down in a mix.

And finally a tutorial, or as much as I can at the moment, I’m not sure a video can help but if anyone wants a video I can put one together.

So cool! There’s nothing like sitting inbetween the speakers of an old school home stereo and dropping the needle down on your favorite record.

Right? Like if I have anything jazzy or vintage sounding I kick it out, like when I was working with MalreDresik’s Psychaedelic Sundae? Yup.

It’s also great if you use royalty free loops that are super loud from the get go. “Prime Loops” is one supplier that leaps to mind. Their sounds are made to fill up so you don’t have to amplify them. Quite the opposite, I always have to turn them down. These controls really cut that down so I can do more than just turn the volume down.
