This is a very, very different take on anything I’ve ever heard done with Shannon’s voice. The effect is surprisingly good; she ends up sounding like a lighter, bouncier Evanescence.

The drums don’t always line up perfectly, but that kind of helps the slightly garagish feeling of the music.

Cheers. shannons voice even more beautiful for me when it contrasts against some rough edges. Garagish was what i was looking for.

Another uplifting track from you. If you don’t mind, some unsolicited suggestions: Agree with admiralbob77 that parts of the drums (and also the stanza before and after the break) could do with better alignment/ quantization. It was a bit distracting to an otherwise very catchy beat.

[edit: Forgot to add that your brit-metal sounded just right for this pell from Shannon, as opposed to say, a American-amp lead guitar sound (which would be more appropriate for a screaming-rock vocals.]

Cheers Ivan. I enjoyed doing this alot. A couple of decades ago there were a few bands in the uk doing the sweet vocals , harder guitar sound. (popguns ?) recently am re living this “cause i can” (as you might say). Did you get the cocteaus reference? my biggest fan (wife) said “oh that bit .. hmmm … sounded like you went wrong ” LOL !

Quote: urmymuseDid you get the cocteaus reference? No, I didn’t — but that’s probably ‘cos I’m not familiar with the band. Heh, we can trust our wives to be honest critics. When I occasionally ask my wife to listen to mine, she tends to ask, “How much more to go?”? :P
