This one really made me move my foot!
Really like the vibe in this one…. and the wynth-work is very innovative, i mean the sounds u used for this mix.

Congratulations Scott!

A very cool dance groove here and I love the structure of this one. Nicely done with the vocals and it def had me tapping my toes as well. Good stuff in my books.

Yes - agree with all above. A commercial track in the best possible meaning - approachable and immediately enjoyable.

One minor thing though - on my Sennheisers the vocals are sometimes outdone by the high-frequency synth elements.

Maybe an opportunity to let the vocals stand out more - or maybe an opportunity for me to get new headphones. :)

Well spotted, Since I trust your ears (and Sennheisers) I went back and checked 2 tracks which I thought maybe the issue. The high frequency synth and piano filtered tracks both had high end EQ (12000Hz) pushed right up… My cruddy ipod headphones clearly just can’t deliver that kind of highend so its gone unnoticed. Why I don’t just buy a cheap pair of Senners is beyond me… To the shops me thinks. I’ve done a new mix down so should sound better. Cheers

Sounds absolutely terrific. Thanks for doing that.

And just so you know - I own the HD200 which are on the low-end cost-wise, but good enough for me. I still find though that some tracks sound terrible on different speakers / headphones. :)

Just bought the HD200. They look cool and sound even better. Thanks for the recommend, I’m really pleased with them. My ipod cups have bitten the dust

Really nice track Scott.

I’ll weigh in on the headphone discussion. Listening as I am at nearly 2 AM, I am on headphones. Mine are Sennheisers, but very old, possibly 25 + years or more. They have open sides which I think distorts the high end making it higher sounding, the benefits of them is that they are light and I can hear if my kids are having a major emergency (plus the pads against my head are yellow, very cute). I am debating whether I need a closed pair. I listened to a couple of mixes tonight that sounded bright to me and I’m wondering if it’s the phones.

I’ve found that every sound system I listen on gives me a difference sense of music and ultimately you just have to accept the limitations of what you have or decide that you must change it.

One option I’ve used a few times is to send a mix off to a trusted friend with better gear (and possibly ears) than me for a quick soundcheck. But don’t tell them I sent you. :-)

You do some great stuff Scott, keep ‘em comin.

I sometimes find that old equipment is the best. I used to own an old ‘music centre’ from back in the 70’s, made by sony. It has the record player, tape and radio functions. But its sound was out of this world. Both on playback and recording via mic, this bit of kit was my best stereo equipment…

My dad has headphones from the 60’s i think (he used to be in bands etc) would love to get my hands on them…

Thanks for your comments esseq, even when you’re not a remixer (or are you?!) you still find time to review other peoples work that doesn’t even include your own stuff… Peace Out ;-)

Oh, beautiful!

I know some people who are producing stuff like this. I will forward this to them. Your s sound so free and airy, nothing stressed.
