Quote: I hate to bring this up because it’s not really stated anywhere and it’s not official site policy and you’ve been a decent contributor since you’ve signed … BUT … all theses remixes of YOURSELF isn’t really in the spirit of the site. After enough of these it starts to come off as what other sites call SSP (shameless self-promotion)

sorry if I’m being cranky…

I think, Disharmonic, that even if you wish to remix yourself, it might work a bit better if you’d remix at least yourself and two or three other works, so that your new work doesn’t just seem like a “bump” to get us to listen to your prior work. We like to hear your samples and work, but the site works best if you’re showing us what you can do with other samples and work. I’m no good at all at mixing, so I’m sure you’ll do far better than I do with whatever you remix!

I just realized, though, that I don’t have ogg capability downloaded in my new computer, so I have to go download an ogg. utility to give your work a listen.

Just let me some time to find my bearings! To be honest, you have took me (a bit) the initial desire to work. I am actually searching for fresh material — and you don`t like my contribution. Sad.

Self-promotion? Looking at the start page of this site and reading your words it seems like a big promotion of some commerical company then. We give you samples, we do not actually *want* your samples.

My contribution were samples with “demo songs”. And ccMixter should be about giving, sampling and sharing. Opps, there`s only “Download, Sample, Cut-up, Share”in the motto. What this means? Did I miss something?

No, I think. And correct me, if I am not right — I can contribute songs and samples, I can sample other`s work and I can share my results. That`s what I am gonna do.

This could be interpreted also as “Yep, I am gonna remix, later. And I know, this is not an internet music archive. I like the idea.”

um, actually I said I appreciate your contributions (maybe this a language thing?)

meanwhile, … I’m just giving you my impressions and making suggestions, no big deal, feel free to ignore.

Peace,

I see, I was angry a bit. Sorry :-P

Let`s close it: its not self-remixing, its a contribution (samples) with a demosong. I am looking forward to remixes.

It IS self remixing

what would the site be like if we all uploaded our samples/loops/bits of sound e.t.c. and then referenced them i.e. exactly what you did?

Come on man….

Thank fod, first line about the music I like :-)

Great, I am looking for some material on ccMixter. Hard bass, good brakes (or hiphop loops that can be played faster). Any tips?

These tags are great, but someone call it drumandbass, other dnb or drum_and_bass (or base). Fulltext could be better d=)
