Sounds like you found that place between the expected and the unexpected (you scared me with the hip-hop tag). I like this a lot. Solid with many points of interest.

Hip-hop is probably a misnomer.. did you have visions of me freestyling over a beat-sliced 808? lol

Its not such a bad genre at heart, the derivative commercial stuff gives it a bad name.. Same as everything else, when money is involved creativity suffers.

as jeris said, portishead, but with a distinct 50s scifi touch to it. all in all a great, and most enjoyable mix

Lol, yeh exactly, I thought I’d channel a 90’s band with strong 70’s cinematic influences into the 21st century via 1950’s genre aesthetics, the only problem with that description is that it sounds more interesting than the actual track!
