I used Reaper.fm, miking the instruments acoustically with an SM-58
Samples I Used
I used the acoustic guitar and lead vocal from Shannon Hurley's "Sunrise", which is licensed CC NC.
Original Samples
I added a rhythm mandolin part and counterpointed it to the guitar, in order to make the guitar sound a bit more exotic. I added a guitar and lead mandolin on a "riff" that is not in the original, and let the guitar fill the space after the bridge with the solo. Plus there's a tambourine.
Process
No real issue here. I played everything from 0:00.
Other Notes
This was a hell of a lot of fun. I heard something else in the song from the way the original producer did it - something simpler, yearning to break free. This was my attempt to release that.
