Snow Portal (ft. snowflake)

I have to confess that I was feeling both privileged and apprehensive to be paired with snowflake for Constellations of Music Secret Mixter. Privileged at the sheer volume and quality of Emily’s work here over many years – and apprehensive for the same reason!
A lot of my work on ccmixter has been poetry/ spoken word and for a while I thought about melding some of my words with Emily’s beautiful singing voice. In the end nothing really worked…
So I picked my favourite Snowflake meditative piece and simply added layers of shakuhachi and koto. I hope this adds to, rather than detracts from, the hypnotic qualities of The Gateway. (And I couldn’t resist sampling a couple of other favourites so that the snowflake voice is still in there as well!)
I hope I’ve done it justice.
