On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old African-American man was killed by a white police officer Derek Chauvin in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, US. Floyd said “I can’t breathe” while being chocked under the knees of Chauvin. Floyd’s death was a hard reminder for resistance against and eventual demolishing of modern-day racial discrimination. “Baby Guitarist Mourning” is a tribute for George Floyd.

The original sound was remixed using another Open Source software Paul’s Extreme Sound Stretch. The duration of “Baby Guitarist Mourning” is 8 minutes and 46 seconds and it was first uploaded on Wikimedia Commons at 08:46 PM India time to symbolize the 08:46 minutes that Floyd was forcefully held under Chauvin’s knees.
