When I think of Urmymuse, I immediately think of guitar layer cake. And that’s what you have here… a blues rock guitar layer cake… to celebrate Urmymuse AND pollinators.

All of the music is by Urmymuse with his son Theo on bass. I thank them both for their inspiring performance. And thank you for pollinating the world with your guitar layer cake style, Urmymuse.

It was so much fun researching pollinators. I learned a LOT. And so… this educational song is ready for a Schoolhouse Rock revival. Can you picture the animation that would go with it? I hope you dig.

p.s. Want to play with the vocals?

WORDS
We got the birds and the bees
Bats in the trees
Lizards on the ground
Spreading pollen all around
Butterflies and moths
Beetles and wasps
Monkeys and squirrels
Spreading pollen on their fur

Without them we all just might die
They pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food supply

Pollinators
We owe them so much
Pollinators
But we keep killing them off
Pollinators
There is so much at stake here…

Almonds, apples, apricots
Cashews, chocolate, coconut
Berries, coffee, kiwifruit
Bananas, figs and melon, too
Peaches, pears and sesame
Sugar cane and even tea
Are just a few of the foods
Pollinators help produce

Without them we all just might die
They pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food supply

Take it away urmymuse on guitar! Buzzing like a bee.
And there’s Theo thumpin’ that bass like a bat out of a cave!

Without them we all just might die
They pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food supply

Pollinators
We owe them so much
Pollinators
But we keep killing them off
Pollinators

Humming birds and honey bees
Lemurs in the trees
Rodents on the ground
Spreading pollen all around
Mosquitoes and slugs
Ants and other bugs
Geckos and skinks
Spreading pollen on their scales

Without them we all just might die
They pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food supply

Pollinators pollinating
Eating, drinking, spreading pollen
Pollinators pollinating
Flying, running, climbing, jumping

Pollinators pollinate
Food that we all love to eat
Pollinators pollinate
Food that we all need to eat

Without them we all just might die
They pollinate 1/3 of the world’s food supply
