I just saw Hall & Oates perform on a tv broadcast of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I’ve never really been into Hall & Oates even though their music was ubiquitous during my growing up. But as I watched, I was kind of blown away by their vocals — these really tight back to back harmonies among all sorts of other great vocal things they did. So when I heard Emily’s great song I thought it would be fun to sing along. I make no representation that I or we sound anything like Hall & Oates (nor would I want to). It’s just interesting to see how inspiration can be a jumping off point for an idea.

Great work by Snowflake & the good Admiral. This is really just like adding another piece of the band to the mix — not really a true remix. Which makes me thinks of the E-Street Band which was also inducted the same night as Hall & Oates. I’ve never been a big fan of Bruce & the EStreet Band — not that I disklike them just never bought a record or anything like that. But as I watched the presentation, I was really moved by how the band was built and worked together. That was inspiring too as that band really is all about how the sum of the parts is so much greater than any individual part. I like that too.

Anyway — there are two file formats of my pell (flac and mp3) as well as an alternate take (which could always be used for doubling or comping, or whatever).

Groovy baby.
