Thanks for picking up on the fusion of new and classic soul & jazz, DM

Told the players to think of music that Bill Cosby would recommend http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Can’t say I remember that track but yes lots of similar things around mid sixties I was 16 in 1966 so it makes me feel quite old.

A very jovial track :) Bill Ray’s drums are both mixed well and used well.

Thanks, FB. Bill Ray’s funk drums are a nice contrast. Boosted the kick and high end a tad.

Thanks, MMT.

We didn’t use compression on the master channel during the final mix to encourage a more classic dynamic range.

Contemporary yet classic and a very intelligent production. Agree with Panu on the drum issue. Brill work.

Beautiful song, well played, well mixed, well mastered. I also agree on classic mastering with not too much compression against the “loudness race” and for the enhancement of dynamics. Downloaded, straight to my mp3 player and favourite playlist here on ccm
