Hi sLow and thanks for using my GTR sample!
An amazing lyric! And your voice is terrific—I mean, you’re a real singer man! Only beef from me is that the guitar is clipping and distorting a bit. I listened to the original sample again and yeah, it is a bit “boomy”—perhaps this could be cured by applying a high-pass filter? At any rate, I think that Geetar needs taming a wee bit! But nevertheless, the song itself is brilliant, original and creative. Thanks again! |

thanks, Jeris!! I’ll confess though that I don’t like my sound w/o the dazzling instrumentation like Javolenus’s, or yours or Dice’s instr. arrangements & the vocal f/x wizardry stuff you & Dice dream up, which is basically why I always want 2 hide in there in the mix. It’s warm and safe in there & I have a security blanket. (& maybe a cooler, mum’s the word) :D

Hi Javolenus,(thanks, man!!) I’m listening 2 it again & I hear exactly what u mean now, I think I screwed that up—it wasn’t u—my sincerest apologies! Your original track isn’t that quite that ‘boomy’… Will DAW up very soon & try 2 fix that with less bass boost & a better mix; I was trying 2 copy a mix I heard recently on an old 45. Sometimes I use that bass boost like a hammer when I should justa use common sense :0 :D

Hi sLow and thanks for this. I sometimes use a plug-in called “Vinyl” by iZotope for simulating old 45s. Trick is to use it sparingly. The main thing here is just to say what a refreshingly original take you have on songs, and you really do have a superb singing voice! I don’t think your vocals need over-processing, but I do like your ADT thing.

Technical issues aside you’ve made a great song out of this and for me that’s what counts.

.
Thanks, unreal_dm!! Appreciate
that muchly! I had Javolenus’ awesome instrumental 2 work with; my original plan for my lyrics was phrased very differently & I’m glad he posted it because it helped me immensely 2 restructure them :)peace |

I can totally relate to wanting to hide your voice in the mix but (unlike me) you’ve got a great singing voice/style, too good to let it be overpowered by an acoustic guitar. Excellent writing skills too.

.
:)thanks so very much, Speck…but I really dig all the resonances of ur voice, let’s not forget singers like Dylan & Leonard Cohen either…
i hope u start posting more stuff like u did, ur vocals have character & sound shamanistic…mysterious peace sLow |

I got here via Jeris’ remix, and agree wholeheartedly with those above who have commented on your great voice. Really nice quality. Terrific lyric too! (… through peaks and valleys of her nameless fears — love it …) Bravo!

:) Thanks so very much, SackJo22, (& i’m very sorry I’m replying so late to this as I just found it) Muchly appreciated,

Sure the mix has issues with clipping, but the songwriting is great. It is nice to hear songwriters at their craft. Not every mix needs to sound crystal…. there is such a thing as lo-fi.

:D i’m a big fan of lo-fi—-it jives perfectly w/ my budget!! (Audacity, various freewares etc..)
thanks so much, bento box :) peace |
