Totally seamless transitions between parts. Very filmatic, and it builds powerfully through its movements.

Thanks for listening and the feedback. I just posted the “how i did it” section. I was very pleased that Sturzstrom’s mix matched Justin’s 120bpm tempo, so that helped a lot. I used Sturzstrom’s beats as the foundation of the mix, although it was a pity one couldn’t really hear much of Sturzstrom’s remix unless you know which parts to look out for. I was also tickled that this mashup inadvertently involved MyVanillaWorld as well, who is my bandmate!

Heh, I was about to write you to ask if you have any ideas for a music video for Simpler Times. Speaking of which, you should upload those stems, to ccM! I’d be happy to do it but won’t be right to point people my way if the stems are yours.

this gave me the feeling of something beginning or ending, both in good ways, like sunrise or sunset in that it’s very touching on a human level. really beautiful!

Thanks for that thoughtful description. I think I know what you’re talking about. And suspect it’s Justin Koh’s “Citizen Start Your Engines” sample that largely contributed to that feel. At least, that’s what I felt when I first heard it. My contribution was really just easing in the start and end. Credit really goes to Justin Koh. Thanks again for listening.

Thank you for the remix. It really served as the inspiration for me to approach the rest of the mix. You probably have no idea how timely your upload was. It came in just 2 days before a deadline :)

Wow, very nice song, the video amplifies all these many different musical facets.
(I really like this small dancing child, btw)

Wow, coming from you, Thanks! I appreciate the affirmation. And once again, I’ve to remind myself credit really goes to Justin and Sturzstrom.

This is a little different from your other remixes Ivan but done to perfection. The kick drum in the intro grabbed me right away. I had to listen twice :) Myvanilla is in your band?

Yes she is. I’d like to say we’re a pseudo band cos we don’t meet to jam and we don’t perform ‘live’. We work via email and our DAWs. Which reminds me… I need to update our About page (shameless plug!)

Thanks man. I really have to try and get Justin Koh to upload stuff here. It’s really to his credit (his original Citizens Start Your Engine) that this track is getting the listens and recommendations.
