Happy anniversary Ivan.
We know how difficult is to tame the dist guitars :). IMO you have reached that but for my taste they have many reverb in the mix. I like a lot how you’ve join the sources. |

Pitx, thanks for the comment! You know, I completed the track about two months ago, but just with colab’s piano sample and my guitar tracks. But I felt it lacked a certain something so continued to work on it. Then I found the rest of the samples, experimented with it, and they fitted the idea of the song. As you pointed out, it was a challenge making sure the guitars don’t drown them out. I wanted the human voices, the violin, and the guitars to be “instrumental voices” in their own right. Not sure if I’ve achieved it in the end. I’m not entirely happy with some parts. And yes, I do tend to use too much of the reverb in my mix. For some reason, I always realise that only when someone tells me!

Very good.
It took me a few listens to really get the full picture. The strings in the intro threw me off, but after that it came together really nicely particularly the second half of the track which is really strong. |

Hi Ivan, Think you have achieved what you set out to do with this. Very emotional feel, guitars epic as ever (i like the reverb). enjoyed!

Evviva! Sometimes I hear something different on this site, and I am happy. You may call it new age, but I dig it. I don’t like the beginning much, the lift goes up with the electric guitarsa few bars ahead, I agree with colab that the second part of the song is much more rounded and consistent. The feeling is good, and the voice is really treated as an instrument. Happy anniversary, I didn’t think you were that old!! (I did mine last year)

Quote: CarosoneI didn’t think you were that old!! (I did mine last year)Ah, depending on who says it and where, that can be a compliment or a subtle snub! LOL. Thank you for the review. I looked up “Evviva” and yes, hurrah! Congrats to you too, Carosone!

Excellent.
I picture something like a new age opera with this being the finale :O You know your way around the guitars :) |

happy anniversary, Ivan. great marriage of interesting samples & a good clean-sounding track. (maybe it’s that high-pass filter on the MSN satellite!)

Had to look up High-pass Filter. Says it “passes high frequencies well but reduces the amplitude of frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency”. It could be your connection, or it could likely be my mix. Or my ears. :) Thanks for the comment, brother moon.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. This is a lovely gift for your wife — beautiful, and intricate, with soft bits and edgy bits, and deserving of close attention — just like a marriage.

quite a cinematic piece for sure… waiting for that melancholy, made a mistake and missing loved one moment in a movie
