Late at night, I was listening to this song without realizing there was another person listening. “Me gusta mucho esa cancion.” - said my daughter - “Me ayuda a dormir.” I smiled.

Now, that little moment will last forever. I just need to play this song and my daughter will be four years old again.

Thanks, that’s a really nice comment, it’s what sharing music is all about!

It develops into a beautiful piece of music. Not that the folky bit isn’t good ofcourse. Not something I have heard very often here.

I always admire your arrangements and the way you blend the various musical styles together.

But on this one the elements seem to be at odds with one another. Seperately they are very good but as one piece, for me they just don’t sound right.

That’s the problem when you have set the bar so high. so much to live up to:)

I really like the accordian parts and that unusual but nice chord choice on the piano for the “its just a matter of time”, maybe its the timing? not sure but it just stuck me as different but good.

Glad you liked it, yes I changed the time signature there (in place of 4 bars of 4/4 there’s a couple of bars of 5/4 and one of 6/4) - “it’s just a matter of timing”!

I love how you are taking some very traditional ingredients and are combining them in unexpected ways to challenge the ears and the mind just a wee bit of their comfort zones while keeping things overall very accessible.

Don’t change a thing on this one and keep working the edge. I absolutely admire this remix! It gets even better with additional listens. Truly brilliant!

Dear Old Dog -you know from experience with me - how much I love old ballad-esque stuff….accordions and fiddles - this offering is lovely…recalling the early Sandy Denis era - much more refined of course, but still sweet and lots of sincere beauty. Loved it.

Yes! This is what extended creativity is all about. ;) I like what you did with the chords in the chorus, the atonality and stuff. Cool idea with the folk-thingie too, though the sampled instrument sounds GM. Maybe a good library like RA or something could remedy that. Any way best remix of Matter of Time so far :) (And I mean my own isn’t bad!)
