I think it’s important that you did not clutter this one up. It would have been tempting to do so many more effects (and of course, if I’d done it, it would have featured meadlowlark song). But the singer/songwriter vibe you have going here is better expressed with a light touch. These are great vocals, and you give them a great setting. I could imagine the addition of perhaps a little percussive slap on a guitar, but otherwise I’d say leave this uncluttered. The atmosphere you create for the vocal is appealing. Should the melody go a few more places? I suppose that’s the question. But I like this mix as it stands.

i share gurdonarks statement, very nice work, mcj.
you know how to write songs. though there`s still “Space” for improvement in this track, but you really layed out a convincing aesthetical concept for “pain and pleasure” that goes a different direction than a balladesque version:) |

nice work, J in the B. this is pretty tight and leaves you smiling. i like it. i would have liked to hear a break down or two to let the guitar breath a bit or maybe throw a little bit of keys in there somewhere. But the tempo and riff work really well. Solid. 5 from me.

thanks cdk!
that little lead break section with no lead could really use a little something different over it. i might edit it with something. or maybe stefsax will throw some awesome sax riffin over it. :) |
