this is ‘funky’ exactly how? ;)
This is a great retro-mix to a time in music that I really don’t like — that’s hardly your fault and this is really well executed, I actually like what you did with the vocals. If you replaced that one synth hook with a more modern (or further retro, like real horns) I could really get behind this mix. Good luck in the contest! |

Glad you can appreciate it - thanks for the feedback, it never really occured to me to use “live” instruments or even their VST counterparts, as I began from the outset with synth-stuff in mind, as that’s what the vocals inspired me to create!
I also never really intended it as a retro piece, although I can see the similarities between it and some kind of 80s synth piece! Funny how things pan out eh? Cheers again, James |
