This is awesome, The electronic beat goes nice with the ambiance. I can see this being in a movie soundtrack.

Thanks Morgantj ! I must have done something right if you can imagine it being a soundtrack :-)

I like this very much as well. I can not tell if this is intentional, but the track balance seems off - like it was mixed relatively loud?

Happy that you like it vo1k1!
I’m not sure I know what you mean with ‘the track balance being off’. I re-checked it visually but I don’t sea (or hear) it. Mixed it on headphones as well as good monitors. Not too loud…
By the way congratulations with your editor’s pick :-)

Ah, what I meant before is that the level of the percussion seemed hot with respect to everything else. Tried different monitoring - WOW - I just re-listened to this on headphones - there is incredibly gorgeous detail and subtlety in here!

Thanks for getting back on the subject, now I understand what you meant. Percussion may be a bit loud indeed, but I think it was more a matter of taste than intention ;-)
Thanks for listening again and making nice comments !

This gentle, melodic electronica accompaniment, with its well-defined yet somehow delicate beat, works very well with the Kristin Hersh ‘pella. The sense of calm energy sets off against the lyrics, giving the song a sense of assured “build” to a quiet conclusion. A really effective remix. Thank you for including my humble groundling drone sample in such an Olympus of sounds and voices.

The pleasure was mine. Found your drone-sample searching on tags by the way :-) It was just what I needed…

Good job, very nice mix.
For me (and just to be constructive), I feel the voice too far in the mix.
And I think it had been better with a glissando of the sequence at the end (from A to G Iguess).
-Sorry for my English : I’m French-
Anyway, everything works together and give a nice mood.
Congratulations !

Welcome aboard, Le_Did and thanks for your comment. You maybe right about the vocal-level. I found it difficult to lift it up, because I was not 100% satisfied about the timing :-( Kristin has a beautiful poetic timing but it’s not easy to match it with such a tight beat.
- Don’t mind your English; I’m Dutch ;-) As long as we understand eachother !

Good combination of sounds! I like to whole mix but agree with Le_Did it would be interesting to hear the vocals to be more present in the mix.
