Holy double lead guitar in the middle! Great vintage sound and great riff! Reminded me of an era somewhere between Tom Scholz and Chilliwack.

Just curious: are you using amp simulation software or are you recording old school tube amp and SM 57?

Ever since goldf1sh posted that topic in the forum, I’ve been experimenting with software amp simulation.

In this case, I’m using a modeling amp that is just about perfect: Simulanalog’s Marshall JCM900, with their virtual Tube Screamer pushing it for the lead.

I have a real Tube Screamer, and I’ll be honest: I can’t tell the difference.

It all gets a great sound. My only complaint is there is a slight touch of latency, which requires a bit of simplified playing.

thanks for explaining, AB - impressive sound indeed! I had never bothered miking a real amp for my guitar recordings so far, that’s why I was curious what your approach was. And yeah, I hear you - latency can be a battle at times! :-)

Well, I can’t stop listening to Panu’s great voice.
And with your guitar playing it’s even better.
And great lead guitar, Bob.
Yesterday I tried (pretty unsuccessfully) to record a guitar solo by myself.

Per’s commented in another review that Panu’s voice works in so many different styles of mix. It definitely sounds great set to your terrifically gutsy b/t that belts along excitingly. A very satisfying listening experience! xxxx

Very true. I’ve heard some of the best panu treatments in everything from trance to europop. Sometimes makes it hard to figure out which direction to go. :)

Yeah, the lead guitar is really great and Panu’s voice is just excellent in this mix. Nice outline of the song, with the lead and organ coming in from the middle. Nice work!

one man band .. one man also sound engineer. in real sense. is one of those songs i listen with pleasure to hear those who knows how to play, and without having to prove anything. ( Also who can sing quietly letting go of the voice, with mastery ). what combination.

Rock on with a double whiskey back, Bob. Nice guitar work. Tube preamp and an amp modeling plugin works great.
