Nice, nice…. I may have additions to this!! Any way to split the piano from the strings? On the mando I can only really double fast or pizzicato parts…

Yeah, ya know all of these should have the stems uploaded, or they’re not samples. They’re complete mixes. I mean, I’m not the police but it does say on the sample upload page ‘do not upload fully mixed tracks’. I assume the same goes for Tubed samples. I believe the accepted way to do it is to upload all the stems and then your mix as a preview. All these recent mixes are excellent by the way, they’re just not samples.

I don’t think I’ve come across any uploads tagged as samples that are actually full mixes, except those that are previews of the included stems/samples. Yeah I was thinking also, as you say, from the standpoint of those using tags to search for samples. But truthfully the tagging system, like any system, is flawed by mis-use anyway. I’ve searched by the tags ‘acid jazz’ and ‘experimental’ before and found less than ten percent to actually be acid jazz or experimental. That being said one can always tag a piece instrumental for those looking for instrumentals.
“what about people that have instrumental tracks that would be useful for producers but they simply don’t have isolated tracks…and they aren’t remixes? Should they just not share with the ccMixter community?” Well, I think that’s the rule, unless their mix has a cc attributable sample in it somewhere. |

“…then the samples library won’t grow.”
Yeah, that’s probably the crux of why full original mixes are not accommodated here. Because the focus of the site is samples and remixing. Even though, as you say, full mixes can also be cc licensed and useful. There are probably other sites that do accommodate cc licensed full original mixes (admittedly not as convenient as ‘one stop shopping’). Hmm… maybe we should have taken this to the forums, get some other opinions. Admins? |

Tasteful and delicate and certainly suitable in a score. Has a sort of Merchant Ivory classicism about it.

Just sourced this track to be used in my friend’s play, #5863, which is opening this weekend. Once again your musicality just amazes me!
