wow. so loved this - downloaded and put into pro tools to listen through the good speakers. that’s a lot of editing - changing the tempo that drastically, and making it sound sung that way. how do you do that????? really great track. thank you. you’ve made my night.

Lots of magic pads, a great accented bass line, punchy synth chords, and an amazing job of retuning the vocals for this beat!

Seemingly simple. Nothing like that under the hood. When the structure opened up to me it was pure bliss.

Awesome. Your beats always sound so phat. Come on, what’s the secret?

Well……..

A lot of people slice the rounded dome off the bottom layer of a cake to make a level base. My way: place the bottom layer upside down. This then gives you a flat surface, plus you preserve more cake and don’t have to brush away so many crumbs that would otherwise all get mixed in with the icing.

Anotherwords: Phase. But it depends on transients.

Still gotta mix it right though…

How do you make the vocal breathe like that? Fantastic backing track also, it just cruises along nicely. Nice chord changes too.

Jeff…I feel like complete shit being gone from here and missing your musical genius. I’m simply blown away at your skill and heart. One of these days we are going to have to meet in person my friend. Cheers to the Maestro!
