Hehe, that title ;)

If I may, I’d like to add a small (and humble) suggestion: it seems the bass is shifted a fraction of a second backwards. If you move it forward just a tad, it will sound more natural/groovy.
Everything else is just perfect, I really like your new guitar adds |

Hi Martijn & thanks for this! I just uploaded a new version if you want to check. I actually moved the bass a fraction back in order to get a better sync to the VSTi drums. Hmm, I think these drums are actually the problem—would have been better grooving with a human drummer. The percussive guitar slaps are not perfectly in time either. Hmm, think this needs someone with better production skills than me!

That sounds way better to me! I actually encounter the same problem often: I record something in Audacity and it shifts the bass too. It’s extremely hard to adjust it, so mostly I just record it again. But this works greatly now

Great Javo!
Playing bass all these years, the biggest (and probably the most important) thing I learned, is that bass is the closest to drums in music. If you shift any of them just a fraction, the groove falls apart. When I try to come up with a bassline (in supermarkets or other places hehe), the rythmic part is the hardest, and in the end it’s what matters most. |

I love the title…the tapping on the guitar (if that’s what that percussive sound was) occasionally feels like it’s too much. All the guitars are brilliant

Hi Rey & thanks — appreciate the feedback! Yeah, the tapping was done by laying the acoustic guitar across my lap and hitting the strings & body with both hands in syncopated fashion. This was the first track of the piece. I then added VSTi drums and by some miracle found that my tapping had been almost in time. And so I created a rhythmic backing track by fusing the tapping & VSTi drums together with some compression & phasing. I then asked Martijn for a bassline. Seems he composed this in his head while out shopping — hence the title. I then added the electric guitar impro. Everything was done off-the-cuff in single, unrehearsed takes.
