The way the rap contrasts with the rather pretty accompaniment really enhances its effectiveness. Some of the instrumentation sounds really lush, while other instrumentation is more virtual-sounding, yet it all works because it’s a foil for the lyrics. I think that it needs a bit more gravel in the bass to give it more body, but that’s just my own bias in this type of thing. A few of the instruments might be switched out to give it a more “natural” feel—not so much that it can’t be electronica-sounding, but because some of it sounds a bit gen-MIDI. I love MIDI, but I don’t think that’s what you’re going for.
The melody is very likable on this one. It “fits” with the vocals, even though some of the little chimes are a tad bit “obvious” to me. Still, the richness of this mix really works. It’s right up and standing tall, and that makes the vocals sing out. “The best train every day of the week”, the vocal says, and this song sounds like your training has really paid off. |

I had to listen to this a couple of times the vocals are so epic and so is the backing (!) I couldn’t absorb it all in one sitting. Not sure if that’s what you were looking for but I thought I would pass along my impressions…
Thanks for the instrumental upload!! |

Man, I always end up getting lost in my own mental imagery w/ your mixes… like they say about b/g music, “if you can really notice it, it’s failed to do its job”- I always drift back to reality with then sweet fadeouts… awesome.

the layering of the vocals in my opinion is really what sold this song. seems as if you really took your time in the mastering, seamless
