Tools I Used

GarageBand, Fender P Bass, Akai drum pad, BOSS DR 850, Yamaha YC Reface

Samples I Used

I used “Not too late” by Snowflake and some guitar steam for that piece by spinningmerkaba.

Original Samples

I added a bass part, a drum part, and an organ part.

Process

So I tried really hard to line everything up on 116 but couldn’t. I tapped it out and it came in as 172 in 6/8, but that didn’t quite do it either. I figured out that you can measure it out on 116 if you think in triplets.

So I found the good start spot to line the track up on. Then I played out a drum part on the Akai drum pad. I added some rides and toms from the DR 850.

Then I played a bass part, practicing a few times first. Then I added the guitar from spinningmerkaba. I placed it where he played it, but I found it actually fit a bit better placed a bit behind. I added a phase effect and a long reverb to give the guitar a real vintage feel.

Then I played an organ part on some of the refrains on the YC. I have an actual YC 25 vintage, but I played this on the Reface, as the Leslie is built right into the organ.

Other Notes

Funny how in dark times the real joy comes out in music. A hopeful piece about a man who wants to deprive his detractors of hope.

Thanos is not inevitable. Remember the Avengers :)
